Drive with Dave: The middle ground is always evil.
Alan Stang/Walter Russell/William Bramley I am in the process of unpacking my library, so just for fun I thought I would show you a personal practice of mine where I select 3 random books, put them on my desk, flip through the pages of each book without looking, and select a page to read. I then bookmark the page for each book and then read out loud one by one to see if randomness becomes synchronicity. Let see how it goes! - D 😎
Truth is not what you want it to be; it is what it is, and you must bend to its power or live a lie. Perceive that which cannot be seen with the eye. From one thing, know 10,000 things. When you have attained the way of strategy there will be nothing that you cannot understand. You will see the way in everything. It is imperative to master the principles of the art of war and learn to be unmoved in mind even in the heat of the battle. Generally speaking, the Way of the warrior is resolute acceptance of death.Even if a man has no natural ability, he can be a warrior. No man is invincible, and therefore no man can fully understand that which would make him invincible. Even with complete and thorough study there is always the possibility of being defeated and although one may be expert in a particular form, mastery is something a man never stops seeking to attain. People in this world look at things mistakenly, and think that what they do not understand must be the void. This is not the true void. It is bewilderment. - Miyamoto Musashi
![]() Nobody owns the Truth. You only own the work you put in, or don't put in towards discovering and aligning with what is true vs what is not true. You own the work you do in sharing with others what you have learned. But you don't own the Truth itself. Buying into a lie is easy. It takes no work whatsoever, no effort, no passion. It's the easy path. Which is why we are overworked in order to survive. So we keep buying the lie and avoid seeking what's true. To avoid confronting the pain of being honest with ourselves, we train ourselves to be weak, apathetic, and easily led until the pursuit of Truth becomes foreign to us. We then start to hate and resent the Truth. We start to project our inner confusion and resentment onto others. We convince ourselves the Truth is relative or doesn't exist. We begin hating the Truth and the facility of wisdom that helps us discern it, because it is missing in our lives. We hate what we don't have. The Truth is what is. It's simple. It is there in every situation, every inquiry, every investigation, every question ever asked, every living being. It is not in a book. A book can show interesting ideas that can lead you in the direction of discovering what's true. But that is all. The rest is on you. The Truth is always there somewhere. It is simply hiding in plain sight surrounded by what is not true. What is not true is more attractive to us because it is easily within reach. You have to have determination, fortitude, and real authentic empathy to access and discover something true. It never reveals itself easily. Which is why the Warrior tradition frowns so much on laziness, complacency and dependency. Manipulators, politicians and cult leaders depend on those traits so they can fleece you with little to no resistance. Warriors loathe those traits and battle against them because they are a barrier to Truth, Freedom, and genuine experience. So when it comes to what we have called "Truth" You can't own it, or convince others of it, it is to be directly experienced through hard work, recognizing and correcting mistakes, research, introspection, elimination of what is not true, and being aware of diversionary influences. You have been given the freedom to apply yourself to the process of living in Truth, or falling for the lie. Any tyrant telling you to give up that freedom and sacrifice it on the alter of the collective for the illusion of safety or security is self deceived and are trying to recruit you into their self deception. The Truth and the freedom you want are inextricably linked. The lie and the slavery you experience are also inextricably linked. Every living Human being is being asked in this time: Which path do you choose? |
